Our friends over at Vitamin Water sent us their brand new flavor of water to try out before it hits the store shelves. We’re kind of like their guinea pigs. The new flavor is called #Attention and it’s a fusion of Fuji apple and watermelon. Personally, I thought that I wouldn’t like any other flavor besides XXX, but this new flavor has earned its spot as a competitor to my taste buds. If you’re like me and like trying new things, head to your local store and pick up your very own bottle of #Attention when it gets released.

It’s always nice to meet the people behind the scenes of music production. The other week I was fortunate enough to have lunch with Jon Street from the Stereotypes to discuss how they came up in the industry and what struggles they went through to get where they’re at today. I plan on doing a video interview with him sometime soon so I’m going to keep his introduction short and let the video speak for himself in the near future. Here’s his story in a nutshell. Jon was like any of us trying to make it in any profession out there. He started out from the bottom and hustled his way to the top. He had a 9-5 job over at Interscope Records working front desk jobs and doing grunt work. After work he would go home and work until the early hours of the morning on producing beats for himself and artists. Luckily he was in a building of talent so he was able to meet some of the right people to hand his music over to. After four years of working hard and meeting the right people, he landed a job opportunity with a good friend of his now, which is his manager. Now Jon and his group, The Stereotypes, have worked with artists such as Danity Kane (their first hit, “Damaged”), Bruno Mars, Ne-Yo, Mary J. Blige, Nina Sky, Far East Movement (signed with Stereotypes), Justin Bieber (Somebody To Love) and many more.

Jon took me on a mini tour throughout the building. The place looks small from the outside but has around 8+ rooms inside.

Pretty nice kitchen for a studio. Right?

Right after I took this photo, his sound engineer came in the room and played some of the new music from Far East Movement’s upcoming album.

I would say they’ve earned a title.

One of the best rare roast beef sandwiches I’ve tasted.

Thank you Jon for introducing me to your lifestyle and hope to meet up again sometime soon!
