People always ask “How did you get into the business?” Well first, I wanted to get my first hand experience at how the industry would be like. This is something I’ve wanted to do as long as I could remember. One of the brands I started out with was Orisue. If you’ve never heard of them, then you’ve been living under a rock. In my early days of the apparel world, I quickly learned there was a lot I had to learn. At that time everyone on the team really had no clue what we were getting into. In 2005, I was willing to do anything to learn more. Allen let me come along to the trade shows and gave me insight into the business world. At such a young age, he had a lot of knowledge about things I’ve never even heard about. Another buddy of mine, Wally, who I’ve known since high school was also a part of Orisue. This dude works hard and plays hard. A ride or die guy for what he believes in. I’ve always admired how Orisue has grown into the brand they are now. From a t-shirt brand into a full blown cut and sew company. If anyone knows, it’s extremely difficult to make that transition happen. It is truly impressive and they’ve done a wonderful job at it.

After being apart of the team for year, I knew it was time for me to start my own project. And to be honest things weren’t exactly peachy with my former squad and me. It was fun seeing how both brands continued to grow and overcome obsticales.  Overtime, we knew that it was time to grow up and make things right. Time to take the brands into the next decade and educate everyone on what we’re about. Two different companies that both have a lot of heart. I took the experience I had with Orisue and created IMKING. To me the times I had at Orisue are priceless. It’s great o be able to sit back with them, talk, laugh, and remember the good ol’ days.

A couple months back we were invited out to the Game and Kendrick Lamar video shoot for their most recent release, “The City.” The wait had finally came to an end to see the finished product earlier this week and all we have to say is that it didn’t seem to disappoint at all.
