On Tuesday our friends Murs and Fashawn premiered their new album “This Generation” at the world famous Amoeba Hollywood. Supporters from all over Southern California came out to represent the West Coast, forming a single file line that ran a couple of blocks from the building. The CD aisles and second story of Amoeba were packed with eager fans waiting to see their idols take over the stage. After almost an hour of waiting, Murs & Fashawn hit the stage, Encouraging the crowd to register to vote for this upcoming election, then performed a new hits from their debut album, a couple fan (and my personal) favorites from Murs’ earlier albums, and also Fashawn’s well known “Boy Meets World” album. Attendees ranged from the legendary DJ Quik, Luckyiam, and a special on stage appearance form SAS’ Krondon hyped the crowd even more. After the show, everyone was encouraged to register to vote (while even Fashawn pledged to register with them) and others took part in a special “Meet & Greet” with the hip hop duo. Above all, it was a great experience for everyone who came out and showed support for the love of hip hop. Although you’d choose to vote Murs for president like most of us, your opinion matters today and it’s up to you to be the change you’d want to see in the world.
